Rosetta Cafe
Website design for a Raumati Beach cafe.
Who they are
Rosetta Cafe is on Rosetta Road in Raumati South, open seven days from eight until three. Independently run, seasonal menus, locally sourced, with a proper range of vegan, keto and coeliac options rather than one token dish.
What we did
A cafe website has one job and it is not persuasion. Somebody is standing on the footpath or sitting in a car deciding where to eat, and they want three things in under ten seconds: are you open, what is on the menu, and can I get a table.
So everything else gets out of the way. Hours and address sit in the header on every page. The menu is a real page rather than a PDF, which matters more than most owners realise - a PDF is unreadable on a phone and invisible to search engines. Booking is one tap from anywhere on the site, with the phone number front and centre for same-day tables because a form is the wrong tool when someone wants a table in an hour.
The menu is structured so seasonal changes are a content edit rather than a job for us. A cafe that has to phone its agency to update a price will stop updating prices.
The dietary options are marked on every dish rather than buried in a note at the bottom. If you are coeliac, that is the only thing you are scanning for.
